Coaching Introduction for the Client

To help you become more familiar and comfortable with my coaching process, a process I often refer to as Energization:

What will our coaching partnership look like?

  • You set the agenda in the coaching partnership. Acting out of our mutual understanding of your priorities I, as your coach, help to provide structure for your success as well as the essential need for accountability.

What should you expect from coaching?

  • Our shared goal is to bring out the best possibilities for your life. This means you commit to taking the necessary actions to bring about the changes you desire.

This also means I commit to supporting you, motivating you, challenging you and guiding you as we work on your goals and dreams.

  • As your coach I am here to encourage your best and highest aspirations and to do so with the best and highest level of care.

I believe in your ability to ascertain what longings dwelling within you need to be pulled up and out into the open.

  • I ask that you believe that through mindful exploration and responses you can change much of that which you desire. I ask that you remember this if you think that I am asking you a tough question or am walking with you through a tough time. I ask you remember my end goal is your end goal- a richer, fuller life.

What do coaching-sessions look like?

  • Our coaching sessions, depending on your chosen coaching package, will last approximately 45 minutes. The more direct and to the point we are in our conversations the more productive our sessions will be. I value your time and will assist in making sure we get at your stated outcome during each session.
  • You can count on me to bring new, fresh energy to our partnership. Sometimes this could be in the form of pondering new ideas, different perspectives, often overlooked approaches, self-tailored strategies or self-care homework that resonates with your desired outcomes. You can count on me to celebrate your successes with you while yet never letting you settle when you know there is more ahead.
  • Coaching is not therapy; I will not coach you beyond my scope of practice. Any area or topic outside of my expertise and that is specifically past trauma or therapy related (except for present day feeling around grief/ loss) should be taken to an appropriate qualified professional.

If you have any questions about what denotes therapy vs coaching, I am happy to address them.

  • Our coaching relationship is one that is built upon trust. I trust you to be open and honest about what you desire from this relationship. Your needs are important and what you disclose is held in confidence. Only in cases of self-harm or harm to another is there an exception. As confidentiality is paramount to our partnership, I will not disclose any information about you to anyone unless permission is granted.
  • Your feedback will be regularly requested and gratefully accepted. If you ever feel there is something that I am doing that is not specifically helpful for you or that you would specifically like me to do, please inform me.
  • While I work often under a contracted time period if you choose to discontinue the coaching period, one-month notice is appreciated. We can always resume our work together at a time more conductive in the future.

What is faith-based coaching?

  • As your coach I am a person of Faith. For me that means I am a worshiper of God, a follower of Christ, and a student of the Bible. To Love in thought, word and deed is my core practice.  I come at my faith from more of a spiritual standpoint than a religious standpoint. I believe there is a power and an infinite loving energy that is accessible to all not matter their color, creed, politics, gender or any of the other boxes and labels put on us.

My faith calls me to love and serve you for most from the highest level possible.

For you as my client that means that I am ever in prayer for you, loving you over judging you and seeking The Energization that only the Divine provides.

What are some Biblical perspectives that touch on my coaching process?

“Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure.”

Philippians 2:12-13 MSG

“May he grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans!”

– Psalm 20: 4 ESV

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

“Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.”

– Proverbs 15:22 ESV
