Coach Marie Christie

To be honest, I was at a low point where life had knocked me down a few too many times and it was difficult for me to pick myself up this time around --- in a word, I had been stuck since 2015. In addition to being knocked down, rejected, I was also in a new empty nest phase of life. So, I was also searching to find my purpose in this new phase of life. I wanted Christian coaching which would help me to see God in all that was happening in my life. I needed help seeing that God was still working, on the throne, ruling and reigning, even if I couldn’t immediately “see” His hand or “feel” His presence. When I think about all the ways God has blessed me, Marie definitely comes to mind. Like so many, this journey called LIFE is never easy, but God always has a plan, and surrounding me with wonderful people like Marie. Her words of wisdom keep me grounded and focused on what “really” matters in life which has not only been inspirational, but life changing! With everything going on in the world today, staying spiritually grounded is the key to unlocking the JOY that God brings us. After my child, Alex died, Marie was one of the first people that really leaned in during those early days. We didn't even know each other that well, but Marie talked with me, came to my house, let me cry and be vulnerable. My "friends", not all- but a lot, stayed away from me. But Marie let me know that I'm not alone in this pain. She has this wonderful calming spirit about her. So when I have talked to Marie in moments of anxiousness, Marie was able to help me find perspective.

I have known Marie Christie since 1984. We have grown up together but really, she was wise even back then. She has common sense ideas about life and relationships but more importantly, she truly cares about people. Marie has always helped me to look at a situation from varying points of view and given me ideas about how to solve life’s problems and through the years, her advice has just gotten better and better. We have discussed many subjects such as relationships with friends, with spouses and on raising children. She recently spoke with me about how I could best help my friend who is dealing with the loss of a child. She was able to help me gently guide my friend to seek support but mostly, she helped me to have confidence that I was being a caring and supportive friend that offered solutions. Marie is easy to talk to and a very fun person who is well liked. She has a strong faith and always comes with a positive attitude. It has been my fortune to call Marie my friend. I am honored and grateful to know her. She is truly a special lady.
